She received her BA in Psychology at St. Norbert College and worked as a research technician at the University of Maryland-Baltimore and Washington University. Rachana is a Postdoctoral Researcher working in a unique co-mentored position in the department of Physical Therapy with Dr. Jennifer Zellers and Orthopaedic Surgery with Dr. Simon Tang. She received her PhD from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where she used in-vitro model systems to study the effect of diabetes on bone fragility and increased fracture risk. Now, her research focuses on studying the impact of diabetes on tendons at the tendon rehab lab in physical therapy; and elucidating the signaling pathways in the bone to understand how diabetes affects bone remodeling using diabetic mice models at the Tang Lab. Rachana has experience editing conference abstracts, manuscripts, and generating scientific figures and illustrations for presentations and publications.

Pranav is a postdoctoral research associate in the lab of Dr. Timothy Miller in the Department of Neurology. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences, with a master’s specialization in pharmacology. He earned his PhD from the University of Otago, New Zealand researching altered brain arginine metabolism in tauopathies such as Alzheimer’s disease, frontotemporal dementia, and progressive supranuclear palsy. His current research involves investigating antisense oligonucleotide (ASO)-mediated therapies in mouse models of dementia. He has experience writing manuscripts and enjoys helping fellow researchers review their scientific communications.

Katherine is a research technician in the lab of Dr. Anne Fagan in the department of neurology. She studies fluid biomarkers of Alzheimer disease and other dementias. Her personal research interests concern comorbid dementias – particularly the biomarker profiles of individuals within an Alzheimer disease cohort who also present with Lewy body pathology. In the lab, Katherine assists with drafting and editing manuscripts; additionally, she has experience reviewing articles for publication.

Sierra is a Molecular Genetics and Genomics (MGG) PhD student. She earned her B.S. in Biological Sciences and Minor in Psychology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 2021. As a graduate student in Dr. Alessandro Vindigni’s lab, Sierra’s thesis project focuses on defining replication stress signatures in BRCA1 mutated cells. Sierra has experience writing and editing abstracts, internship applications, fellowship applications, and personal statements. She also has some experience reviewing manuscripts and designing figures.

He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, where he worked with Dr. Costas Lyssiotis on targeting metabolic pathways in pancreatic cancer cells. He is broadly interested in the metabolic mechanisms of disease but also has research experience in other aspects of biochemistry and molecular biology. Matt has written, edited, and reviewed manuscripts, and he enjoys helping people express themselves and effectively convey their ideas through writing.

Kellan is a PhD student in the Molecular and Cellular Biology program. She works in the laboratory of Dr. Jason Yi in the Department of Neuroscience, where she studies the impact of genetic variants on autism and neurodevelopmental disease. She obtained her undergraduate degree at the University of Dallas, where she worked in a microbiology laboratory studying a model of nosocomial infection in patients with cystic fibrosis. She is experienced in writing and editing scientific papers, abstracts, reviews, and grant applications.

He received his PhD in Microbiology & Immunology at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill examining how an oncogenic virus subverts host signaling pathways to promote tumorigenesis. Jason’s current research examines sex differences within signaling pathways in glioblastoma in response to radiation. He has prior experience editing and writing research articles, reviews, and commentaries.
