 Suranjana’s research focuses on investigating genetic and activity-dependent mechanisms regulating cortical development in the mouse and fat-tailed dunnart marsupial. Suranjana obtained her Ph.D. in developmental neuroscience from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, India (2019). When she is not searching for intriguing patterns in the brain, Suranjana loves to dabble in painting, photography, traveling to new places, science communication and outreach. She has extensive experience in manuscript/grant writing, preparation of figures and illustrations for journal articles and creating presentations for scientific and public talks.
